“That’s right, Gil.”
Ray has long, dark hair and is very thin and tall. He wears a hat that doubles as a mask, which is designed to look like a rabbit. He wears a black suit with a thin tie. His shirt has a pattern that matches Gil's clothing. Ray also wears a rabbit tail with his outfit.
Ray first appears in chapter 50, locked up in C3's jailhouse with Gil. As Gil tries to persuade Shamrock to work with the two of them, Ray agrees and backs up everything Gil is saying. Gil tells Shamrock that they both have a woman they want to protect.
Later in the same chapter, Ray and Gil break out of C3's prison and it is shown that Gil has convinced Shamrock into doing the same as well. This also leads many other subclass to escape, which makes C3 sound an alarm. Ray and Gil were apparently going to stay quietly captured like the woman told them to, but Gil says the circumstances have changed. When Gil calls the jailbreak a party, Ray agrees and says that he likes parties.
Once out of the cell, Gil says it was easy to break out of. Ray agrees and tells him the important part starts now. Shamrock leaves the two of them and Gil makes an announcement stating that they only have one request: Release the imprisoned Servamp of Wrath. He says if C3 fails to do this, they will destroy the jail.
Gil and Ray vs Tsurugi
In the halls of C3, Ray and Gil search for Wrath. Ray says that they should go down an elevator, but is interrupted as Tsurugi arrives and begins talking to them. Ray and Gil both become excited that they have encountered an enemy. Tsurugi asks the pair why they are going to kill him. They are confused and Gil asks Tsurugi if he means he is willing to listen to them. Gil tells Tsurugi that they let themselves be captured so they could bail out Wrath.
Tsurugi begins to attack and Gil says that he is so slow. Ray agrees and says that Tsurugi is slow. Ray and Gil join hands and Ray calls out "Ray St. Crazy Rabbit". Tsurugi continues attacking and Ray pulls Gil out of the way. Gil tells Ray he saved him. Gil tells Tsurugi their hometown is a water capital and calls out his attack. Ray aids him in this attack and targets Tsurugi between his fingers, like a camera. Once he sets the target on Tsurugi, he calls him picture perfect and tells him to pose for three seconds. Ray then calls out his attack, Illumination (Betraying the Sun and the Moon). This causes Tsurugi to lose the ability to move his body. Water suddenly comes rushing at Tsurugi while Gil and Ray high five in victory of their successful
Tsurugi stables himself and starts at Gil and Ray. Gil tells him he's energetic and Tsurugi becomes faster than before. Ray notices this. Ray tries to get Tsurugi into the frame of his target but he is too fast. Ray calls out Gil's name while Tsurugi suddenly attacks Gil. Before he can do so, however, Ray steps in to protect him. This causes Tsurugi's weapon to pierce through Ray's hand. Gil is concerned for Ray, but Ray tells him not to bother because Tsurugi is coming.
The battle continues with Gil hitting Tsurugi with his ability. The power suddenly goes out and Ray holds his injury. Gil remembers Ray's condition and goes to his side. Ray tells Gil that he is fine and not to get upset, saying that will only get him killed. Ray states he may not be of much help anymore because of his injured hand.
Tsurugi suddenly attacks and Gil tells Ray to leave it to him. Gil shoots water at Tsurugi, who tries to communicate with Toma. Gil and Ray take advantage of this opportunity by working together to use Ray's ability. The attack is successful and it send Tsurugi to the lower levels.
Gil then uses his clothing to patch up Ray's injury. Ray tells him he is fine and that they have to go. The duo scour for The Mother and run into her, Lawless, and Licht. Ray and Gil run to The Mother and tell her they were worried about her. The Mother asks about Ray's hand and he tells her he is fine.
Once Gil and Ray hear that Lawless and Licht wanted to save Tsurugi, they becomes defensive and state that Tsurugi got what he deserved. When The Mother decides to save Tsurugi, Gil and Ray are shocked and ask her why, since they fought so hard. She hugs them and thanks them for saving her. They call out to her as she jumps down to rescue Tsurugi.
Gil and Ray then realize the building is collapsing and that they must leave. They are still worried about The Mother's safety.
Gil is Ray's fellow Wrath subclass and partner, almost never seen without him. They were both captured and locked up in C3's prison together, waiting for the opportunity to save The Mother, even though she told them to stay put. They always fight together and work well using each other's abilities in the best way. During battle, they often high-five or talk with each other. Ray is shown to be very loyal his partner, putting Gil's safety over his own when he stepped in front of an attack aimed at him. Gil returns this loyalty and also worries greatly about Ray's well being. Ray has always been shown to agree with everything Gil says and always backs him up. Gil does most of the talking for both of them. Even in their past lives as human they were partners, as they were both soldiers on the battlefield together. It is also revealed that they both have the same hometown, Venice, Italy.
Ray and Wrath care about each other a lot. He's shown to be very eager to free her from the C3 prison and protect her. Just like Gil, he seems to admire her and sees her as family, even referring to her as "big sister". Wrath originally turned Ray and Gil into her subclasses after they died on the battlefield as soldiers.
Ray is shown to be the calmer of himself and Gil. To compliment Gil's erratic behaviour, Ray seems to be more stable. Ray is more reserved and talks less. Much of his dialogue is dedicated to agreeing with whatever Gil is saying. Ray gets excited when confronted with an enemy and having to fight. Unlike his partner, he is more observant while in battle. He is shown to be very loyal to both Wrath and Gil. He was willing to take the blow of an attack in Gil's place. Even after this, he is focused on defeating the enemy and makes Gil focus on the battle.
- Illumination (Betraying the Sun and the Moon)- Ray's ability causes the enemy to freeze in one position so they cannot move. Ray positions his fingers as if they are a camera and for it to work, the enemy's whole body must be in the shot. Ray uses his ability paired with Gil's. Since he is able to combat against Tsurugi, it must have considerable strength.
